The Glock organization worldwide and Glock fans everywhere, presumably, too, suffered a major loss recently.
Of course, Glock has been a mainstay in the firearms world for decades, and many people consider Glocks to be the gold standard for reliability right out of the box.
Then again, many Glock fans particularly love Glocks because of the wide variety of aftermarket upgrades and accessories available, so, Glock fans can display their love and loyalty for their favorite firearms manufacturer everywhere they go (and probably put themselves on another government watch list due to being a “gun fanatic”).
Today, though, we aren’t going to be talking about the different models of Glocks so much, as that isn’t the loss that happened recently. Alex Nitzberg writes,
aston Glock, founder of the brand widely known for its popular pistols, has passed away at the age of 94 years old, his company has indicated.
“Gaston Glock not only revolutionized the world of small arms in the 1980s, but also succeeded in establishing the GLOCK brand as the global leader in the handgun industry. His internationally renowned GLOCK Perfection stands for uncompromising quality and maximum customer satisfaction,” the company stated on its website. “Gaston Glock charted the strategic direction of the GLOCK Group throughout his life and prepared it for the future. His life’s work will continue in his spirit.”
That’s right, the founder of the famous Glock brand has died. While many are taking a moment of silence out of respect for how Gaston Glock transformed the firearms world through his work, we can be glad that his company lives on so that those who are Glock fans can continue to buy more Glocks.
And, if we’re being honest, isn’t having that kind of long-term positive impact on the world after you’ve left this earth one of the best legacies that you could have?
Good for you, Glaston Glock. Rest in peace.
